Yes providing a chauffeur driven limousine to transport them around got prohibitively expensive.

Glad to see that you are enjoying the actual quotes of Thomas Jefferson and not some lie by you.
Swing and a miss. Anyone needs a license to drive a car? Why make them get a license? Doesn't that make you a racist?

can't stop commenting on my sig huh? Lol

Society learned a long time ago that Rules, Regulations and Laws were required to afford other members of society protection from people like you.
again, I hope you are making money for posting the nonsense you post. If not then you are a sad case.

From:

"According to The Mercury News, Somerville wanted to add a tagline to a segment about the Petito case pointing out the disparity in coverage of missing persons cases of white women relative to women of color."

^That^ got him pulled off the air...and that makes it clear the management of Fox Bay Area news affiliate KTVU are racist...

The slavers were losers. Who cares what they think.
Beliefs have prompted some members of the human race to commit some vicious acts against humanity. Beliefs have also prompted people to do stupid and ignorant things. Take the Covid-19 vaccine shot for example although over seven hundred thousand have died from the virus and getting the Covid-19 vaccine shot will reduce your chances of dying from the virus from 100 percent to 1.3 percent. What is shocking to me is the parents with beliefs who are willing to risk their children's lives on their beliefs.

We do not need to wash what those with beliefs did years ago and cloak it with anonymity by placing it in the realm of, What is out of sight, Is out of mind, What is out of sight and out of mind does not exist. We need to learn from history, not sanitize history.

We as a Nation need to identify all those Black, White, Yellow, Pink, Green or whatever color who were involved in slavery. Place this information in a central depository. The Smithsonian Museum has a Display on Slavery but it does not tell the whole story of slavery. Blacks in Africa were also involved in the Slave Trade.

This is something that the white slavers pointed to to justify their being in the slave trade and owning slaves...

What's that old saying? Ah yes! Two wrongs do not make a right!
Very true, two wrongs never make a right. When two people are involved in the slave trade market with one of them white and the other black and just blaming the white person and completely ignoring the role of the black individual is not right either.

This was in the previously posted link.

“OUIDAH, Benin — Less than a mile from what was once West Africa's biggest slave port, the departure point for more than a million people in chains, stands a statue of Francisco Félix de Souza, a man regarded as the father of this city.

There's a museum devoted to his family and a plaza in his name. Every few decades, his descendants proudly bestow his nickname — "Chacha" — on a de Souza who is appointed the clan's new patriarch.

But there's one part of de Souza's legacy that is seldom addressed. After arriving here in the late 1700s from Brazil, then a Portuguese colony, he became one of the biggest slave merchants in the history of the transatlantic slave trade.”

This is just but one of the black individuals that sold black men, women and children to the white man when he arrived in his ship in Africa. The white slave trader then transported the black people to other countries and sold them as slaves. A trip that started when they were jerked forcibly from their villages and hamlets in Africa by other black men, carried to Zanzibar where they were then sold to a slave merchant.

Regardless of what some blacks did in Africa.....the fact remains.....this country was built on the backs of those slaves.....white folks became rich from owning human beings.......we held blacks down for years........we still do.......the GOPQ are actively trying to take black voting rights away as we speak......we still have a serious problem in this country......putting it in a museum will not suffice.

JB my point being the finger should be pointed at all involved in the slave trade.

Blacks we’re not the only ones enslaved. A lot of people think they were.

What about the Chinese who replaced the Blacks on the Plantations?

What about the indentured White Irish who endured 4-10 years of Slave conditions at the hands of American Colonist.

What caused the shift from indentured servant to African slaves?

“As demands for labor grew, so did the cost of indentured servants. Many landowners also felt threatened by newly freed servants demand for land. ... Landowners turned to African slaves as a more profitable and ever-renewable source of labor and the shift from indentured servants to racial slavery had begun.”

I understand your point.....the slave trade was terrible for all...but....in this country......blacks far outnumbered any other race or group and their treatment far worse even after their supposed freedom. They still suffer at the hands of white people.....so do other minorities but black treatment over the years should not be ignored or put in a museum.........we have been brainwashing our kids for too long.

People have a tendency to suddenly suffer from convenience amnesia. All history needs to be preserved so it can be constantly reviewed to prevent hopefully the same thing happening again.

History also needs to be complete and not be sanitized by leaving out players and participating players In the historical accounting.

Read this and I think you will be surprised to learn that Brazil has always been a key player in the American History of Slavery.

Latest information put the number of Haitian fleeing out of Brazil through Columbia to get to the US at 20,000 trying to move on to Panama.

From:

A teacher in North Carolina has resigned after telling Black students in her class that they would be her “field slaves” if not for the Constitution—one of several recent racist incidents at the charter school, according to a parent.
In September, the eighth-grade English teacher at Winterville Charter Academy, near Greenville, had Black students raise their hands on Constitution Day and told them that they would be her “field slaves” without the founding document.

That teacher is not only a racist but also very incredibly stupid if she thinks the Constitution prevented anyone from being forced into slavery...

Good discussion. Again....I understand your point and agree....history should be reviewed and....I would add....truthfully told to our kids in our schools....fact is.....we have lied about our history throughout the years.......the all men are created equal stuff is white man propaganda......we have mistreated many people.....particulary the black people.......many on the right want to continue the practice to remain in power.
